Get Your Life In Order

Oct 04, 2023

It is felt when our lives are not in order, but how often do we take the time to discern why and what digits to take to get it in order? Many times we just wait and hope things will change on its own by letting the time go by. Even when it feels like it lifts, that lifting is typically short lived.

We all know what it’s like to experience chaos in our lives, schedule, and environment. This leads to overwhelm and stress that hinders forward movement into the things you are called to. While some experience chaos more often than others, some people find themselves in a perpetual state of chaos. As a believer, this should not be your story.

Why Your Life Is Out Of Order

Here are some reasons your life, including our schedule and environment, remains out of order.

Comfort

You’ve gotten comfortable with the chaos and dysfunction in your life. It feels like it takes and requires too much to pursue order in the areas that have gotten out of order. You have accepted this to be your new normal and you have trained yourself to function in it.

You don’t want to face the fear of the unknown and challenges, which would require you to leave what’s familiar and comfortable. Fear and anxiety has you held back because you don't want to pursue that which you cannot control or predict.

False Identity

You have accepted and believed lies about who you are and your capabilities. For example, this sounds like...

  • I’m not a planner
  • I'm not an organizer
  • That’s just who/how I am

What you are really communicating is not that you aren't but rather you won't. Planning, organization, and bring order to your life and schedule are skills that can be developed over time. The truth is that you are hiding behind a false identity instead of embracing the process to learn the skills to grow, get better, and execute.

Spiritually Blind

You lack the revelation that the same Power and Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives on the inside of you as a believer. Therefore your Helper and Guide, is with you and desires to help you get your life in order. Many times we ignore Him or don't follow His instructions to get our lives in order or maintain order when it is established.

You lack the revelation that you can do all things through Christ that strengthens you. You find it easy to read and say but harder to believe and live. Instead of walking by faith, you are walking by sight. To get your life in order seem, looks, and feels too hard. You haven’t realized that He desire to help and guide you so you can organize the chaos and get your life in order. You don't have to do it alone or in your own strength.

Misprioritization

Your priorities are nonexistent, misaligned, or not in proper order. When this is the case, your pursuits are all over the place. You are not able to obtain focus or advance in the things you are called to do because your life and schedule is chaotic. You’re ignoring the chaos and finding other things and people more important than what you should be doing and focusing on as determined and instructed by God.

Your life reflects a lack of boundaries and intentionality. Even when you realize what your priorities from God are or what they should be, you don't take the necessary steps to protect and guard the order you need to establish and maintain to make progress.

Pride

You are potentially prideful, refusing to get the help you need. Yes the Holy Spirit is your present help but He is also your guide to show you the people and resources He is trying to get you to partner with to help you get your life in order. In some cases you won’t start or step out because you don’t want to be or feel embarrassed or look bad. You refuse take advantage of free resources and invest into the things that can bring order to your life.
