3 Steps To Organize The Chaos In Your Life
Dec 10, 2022
You have so much you want to do and get accomplished but you just can't seem to find a way to get things done. You try to get things organized but all you see and experience is chaos and disorder. There are roles and tasks you know you must fulfill but you just feel overwhelmed and unable to identify the next steps to actually make progress and be the person you know and your heart and envision you are destined to be and become.
You might feel like you have a procrastination problem or just have too much on your plate with nothing you can actually get rid of, but the real problem is that you need to organize the chaos in your life. It's time to stop trying to survive and begin to thrive even in the midst of the chaos. You may not be able to get rid of all the chaos but you can definitely organize it.
3 Steps To Organizing The Chaos In Your Life
The first step is to create your list. You have to get it all out of your head. You have to write it all out. Whatever tasks or responsibilities you have, write it all out. You can do this for the span of the week or the month. Whichever you find to be most helpful and beneficial to you is what is best. Creating your list allows you to not forget anything that is important and helps you to see what accomplishments you are making as you complete each task.
The next step is to order your list. You need to prioritize and determine what needs to get done in what order. You can view each item individually or categorize them from most important to least important. Either put a number next to each item in order of importance or place them in the categories you created. Select the process that best works for how you prefer to process and sort through your list.
Lastly, attack each task or category one digit at a time. Don’t set yourself up for feeling like failure by trying to attack it all at the same time. Determine next steps and attack each digit one at a time from most to least important. Set time blocks in your schedule until you complete each task. Tackle your list each day during its designated time block and watch yourself completing tasks, scratching them off your list, and accomplishing more of your goals.
Note, your list will never be blank. Items will move up in importance or change categories. Tasks will be added to your list but don’t let that overwhelm you. Because you have a system, you can organize the chaos instead of being oppressed by it. Be honest about how much you can handle and enjoy the reality that you are fulfilling the tasks and roles assigned to you without being stressed or overwhelmed anymore.
